Connected across Mississippi: The Small Church Collaborative

Christ Church is part of a wider Episcopal community across Mississippi. This month’s TME-news highlights the Diocese’s Small Church Collaborative, a ministry created to support the many small congregations that make up more than half of the churches in the Diocese of Mississippi.

The Collaborative is led by the Rev. Elisabeth Malphurs, who became Missioner to Small Churches on August 1. The ministry includes monthly Zoom gatherings, additional Small Church Chats, liturgy resources, recorded meetings, and focused support for lay and ordained leaders of small churches.

For a congregation like Christ Church, the emphasis is a useful reminder that small churches are not isolated churches. We remain connected to the worship, resources, leadership, and shared life of the Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi.
